I have been studying colonic pathophysiology for about 25 years. I first studied the role of gastrin peptides in pancreas and colorectal cancers in the laboratory of Lucien Pradayrol and in collaboration with Timothy Wang (Columbia University) during my Master (University of Toulouse, 2000) and my PhD in Pharmacology (University of Toulouse, 2004), and then in the group of Arthur Shulkes and Graham Baldwin at the University of Melbourne (Australia). Since 2009, I have been developing research projects aimed at understanding the interaction between the intestinal epithelium and its environment in the regulation of the intestinal stem cells in the context of inflammation and cancer initiation. Involved in the development of alternative models, I am a co-founder of the national network on organoids (GDR Organoids) and member of its steering committee. I am a member of the executive committee of the PEPR MED-OOC (organs and organoids on chip), and coordinate of one of its national WPs and of one of its targeted priority projects. I am President of the scientific council of GIS FC3R (development of alternatives to animal experiments).
